Q&A: What disease could be considered the closest to a zombie infection virus?

Question by mitch: What disease could be considered the closest to a zombie infection virus?
I’ve read about something in popular culture known as a Zombie Apocalypse. That knowledge coupled with George Santayana’s quote “Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it” and knowing what happened in similar past events could help us survive.
(I know it’s not real. It’s for shits and gigs.)

  1. PB says:

Something like the rage virus in 28 days later is more feasible than a zombie infection virus. The people who are infected in 28 days later are still alive, but the virus completely controlled their bodies, their actions. It would have to be a virus that completely took over your cognitive/behavioral process.

  2. Weise Ente says:

    Rabies.

It is spread by biting and it can induce a somewhat enraged state, in other animals anyway.

  3. Zombie says:

    Rabies.

It’s spread by biting, although the victims of the disease don’t have a hunger for human flesh.
